Covid wreaked havoc on the world across 2020 and 2021. In India, the second wave of Covid in early 2021 was the deadliest and took innumerable lives, both young and old, and changed the lives of millions forever.
Diwali, a celebration of light, hope, and new beginnings, usually comes at the end of the year. But, in 2021, it was a muted affair for many, not only because of the lockdown, but by a growing realization that things would never quite be the same.
With the help of the Facebook brand team, we decided to tell the real-life story of a doctor who saved countless lives during COVID, but unfortunately lost her loved one to the disease, and created a support group to help those who have lost their loved ones just like her. We recreated her story, celebrating Diwali for the first time without him, and bringing light into the lives of those who have lost their loved ones.
